DEADBEATS
Character Concept: Ti-Jean
Very soon I will be making a formal announcement but this is for a sick nasty project I'm working on right now.
It's called DEADBEATS and it's written by the mad genius Rob Bass.
For now though the first of 3 Character concepts I'm working on.
Think this is nuts wait until you see the other two guys.

The system fails again
"Experience hath shown, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."

Seems Sketchy
Random stuff I or other people come up with which I will use to exercise my mutant ability. Welcome to my danger room and all that.
Each sketch will be accompanied by a quote.
Quick sketch of Professor X I did at Starbucks while I had lunch today.

TEKKONKINKREET
Be happy Be Happy.
I try to tell myself this alot.
Often while drawing I find myself in need of some creative fuel. The creation
machines in my head require it in order to function for long periods of time.
Those are an entirely different conversation though.
Anyway I popped open me iTunes, clicked over on Movies and after spending way
too long staring at the categories thought to myself "OH I KNOW WHAT TO WATCH.
IIIIIIT'S ANIME TIME!!!" It was loud in my head like that too. That's what the
whole all caps thing meant.
In case yuh.....didn't..............get.....that.....sooooo anywaaaay.
I find myself watch the trailer for TEKKONKINKREET.
Which grabs me subtly by the hand and leads me into the most beautiful garden
of sweet delicious Anime apple trees I have had the pleasure of walking through
in years.
I won't spill any details for fear of ruining you Journey into the would of
Black & White. Great characters. GREAT Guuuuhhreat characters.
It's nice to know art like this is being made.
I think about the crazy future human psyciarcheologists that will crack open
some ancient art laboratory 10,000 years from now. They'll stumble in and trip
over my decaying yet still extremely attractive, which I'm sure one of them
will mention, remains before reaching my desk, popping up my iTunes and watching
this. That thought makes me happy. I'm glad this film will be there to speak for us.
Be happy. Be happy. That is the message of this Masterpiece.
Listen.
Peace

TRANSMETROPOLITAN
"There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long PEOPLE. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution."
~ Spider Jerusalem
If you have not read Transmetropoiltan you need to.
Warren Ellis is a freaking Mad Genius for this book.
Spider Jerusalem is the perfect analog for the little voice in all our heads that screams at the ridiculous stupidity of our monstrous ways.
This is Spider. Rather than represent his suddenly thinking of the answer with a light bulb like is so common. I chose a mushroom cloud.
Click Here to get the book.
Also I have a dozen or so prints or this available.

Zeke the Ninja
He doesn't have a name yet but for the sake of this post I shall call him Zeke.
Zeke the Ninja.
I came up with this design while working on my website (which should be live in the next 2 weeks or so by the way). I wanted to come up with some characters based on odd combinations multiple weapons. No guns though.
I thought, swords and grenandes could make for an interesting fighting style.
Zeke has a myriad of grenades in the crazy back pack of his, and he's ill with those two crazy swords.
Not sure what I'll end up doing with the character design. I'm sure he'll end up in one of my Graphic Novels in some form.
I know this will become a T-Shirt at some point too.
I'll post him colored soon. I'm having fun with those light trails.
Peace;
